All-Hazard Mitigation Blog

I started using WordPress.com to see how it could be a useful tool to facilitate work-related community planning projects.  It’s taken me in a few different directions, into music and broadband and Scouting and many other esoteric topics.

Now it’s taken me back to the beginning, with a focused work-related blog:

Welcome to the All-Hazard Mitigation blog.

This project is intended to support All-Hazard Mitigation Planning projects in Southwest Minnesota.  The Southwest Regional Development Commission has been working with counties, cities and other interested parties on developing multi-jurisdictional mitigation plans for several years.

  • Murray County AHMP 2005 (update in progress)
  • Nobles County AHMP 2005 (update in progress)
  • Redwood County AHMP 2005 (update in progress)
  • Rock County AHMP 2007
  • Jackson County AHMP 2008
  • Pipestone County AHMP draft submitted
  • Lyon County AHMP in progress
  • Lincoln County AHMP in progress
  • Cottonwood County AHMP in progress

This blog is intended to facilitate the All-Hazards Mitigation Planning projects in Southwest Minnesota.  These projects may be supported by awards from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); however, points of view or opinions are those of the author and do not represent endorsement by FEMA or reflect FEMA’s views.  Same goes for Minnesota Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM).

I doubt it’s going to be a terribly active blog.  Mostly a central repository for resources, and a place I can post discussion items.  Maybe figure how how to run wordpress polls.

Check it out if you’ve got a minute, let me know what you think.
