Places That Matter: National Trust Photo Contest

Places That Matter Finalists

This just in from the National Trust for Historic Preservation:

Dear John:

More than 1,900 photos have been submitted to our This Place Matters campaign, sponsored by Fireman’s Fund Insurance. What an amazing display of support for places that matter all across the country!

We’ve reviewed all the contest submissions and narrowed them down to twelve finalists that embody the spirit of This Place Matters.  Believe me, it was a hard task!

SEE THE FINALISTS HERE!

Now it’s your turn!  Help us choose a winner by VOTING ONLINE for the photo you think best captures the spirit, story and value of the special place it portrays.  You can vote once a day between now and October 9th, so head to our This Place Matters page now and cast your vote.

Sincerely,

Dolores McDonagh

p.s. Help get votes for your favorite place. Forward this email to 5 friends now and encourage them to vote today!

There are some really neat places profiled.  I really like the emphasis of this campaign, expanding our focus from individual historic structures to the larger context of the places in which we live.  Places that can thrive. Places that Matter, from South Carolina to Washington state, from the Bronx in New York to Kaua’i, Hawaii.  Check it out and let ’em know what you think.
